BBQ Brown Sugar Smokehouse Ribbon Burger:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup BBQ plantbased mix
1/4 cup hot water
1 peeled carrot
1tsp. Brown sugar (plus additional for bun)
1 tbsp coconut oil (plus additional oil for bun)
1tsp molasses
Pinch of salt and pepper
1/4 cup vegan mayo
1 tbsp ketchup
Lettuce
1/4 tsp smoke flavor
1 Bun
Preheat grill or panini press
In a small bowl mix hot water, BBQ mix and pinch of salt. Form into patty, either place in a frying with oil or grill on medium low heat until brown.
Meanwhile in a frying pan sauté carrot, coconut oil, brown sugar, molasses and pepper until carrots are tender.
In a small bowl mix: mayo, smoke flavor and ketchup.
For the bun: rub coconut oil over the whole bun. Gently pat oiled bun in additional sugar until slightly coated.
Place bun on preheated panini press and heat until the brown sugar is caramelized. Watch carefully.
Assemble and serve warm.
